PRICE: £150 per course 'total' for 2 to 4 participants.

*This course requires a minimum of 2 participants to run

Over two sessions this course will introduce you to the foundation skills of climbing, from best practice for safe climbing through to efficient movement and technique on which all further skills can be built on.

Each session will last approximately 4 hours.

Session 1 will be held at an indoor ‘Bouldering Wall’ where we will look at warm up exercises and routines, movement skills and practice drills, the ABC of agility balance and coordination, climbing holds, efficient climbing, how to avoid injuries, training routines and more.

Session 2 will be held at an indoor ‘Climbing Wall’ where we will look at putting skills and techniques gained during Session 1 to use on higher ‘bottom roped’ routes, plus we will look at correctly fitting and using a harness, climbing knots, tying on, available belay devices, selecting a suitable route, safe belaying, lowering a climber, using techniques for efficient climbing, training routines and more.

BOOKING: We currently run this course on a 'to order' basis, this enables us to arrange your booking around your convenient dates and can be held at  suitable climbing venues throughout Yorkshire or the Peak District. Please make an enquiry here and we will be happy to discuss details.

SUITABILITY: this course would be suitable for anyone interested taking their first steps into climbing with a view to gaining good technique and sound skills on which to build on.

PLEASE NOTE: We recommend taking out travel, personal accident and cancellation insurance.

INCLUDED: Leadership, instruction, planning, and organisation by a fully qualified and experienced course/adventure leader/instructor.

NOT INCLUDED: Travel, accommodation, any other expenses such as parking fees, equipment hire etc.
